Who Does Not Know President Koroma Is A Temne?
Saturday, 19 May 2012 09:34

By Sheka Tarawalie (Deputy Minister of Information & Communications)

When recently I decided to take up some journalistic paraphernalia to write an article, I did not use a pseudonym. I never use pen-names or hide behind editorials when I want to express myself. And so ever since I joined government, I made it categorically clear that I would steer clear of the day-to-day running of the newspaper I founded, The Torchlight. Ever since its re-emergence, the paper has had a string of editors, including but not limited to Tatafway Tumoe, Mohamed Sankoh (One Drop), and now Mohamed Sannoh – all of whom are qualified journalists and/or degree holders. Ever since I stopped writing in The Torchlight, it is obviously noticeable that the style of the paper changed – because all writers/editors have their style. But why would someone sit down and think that I would be editing The Torchlight with all the work-load of being Deputy Minister in the challenging and work-load-infested Ministry of Information & Communications? Why would anyone in their right senses think that it is MIK Bayoh that dictates the writings of Global Times because he owns it?

Maada Bio’s Priorities Are Redundant

- President Koroma Has Already Dealt With The Youth And The Economy

By Sheka Tarawalie (Deputy Minister of Information & Communications)   Apparently, the flag-bearer of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Julius Maada Bio, does not really know what is going on in Sierra Leone. Apart from his reported secret bond with an homosexual MP in the UK, and his reluctant acceptance of his role in extrajudicial killings in the worldwide-listened BBC ‘Focus on Africa’ programme, and his blatant lies of saying the SLPP built 700 kilometres of road from Freetown to other countries while the APC has only done about 3 kilometres ( which in reality should actually be the reverse), the rat-like cornered former junta leader actually exposed his ignorance of the solid socio-economic foundation currently being laid in Sierra Leone by stating that his priorities would be youth employment and the economy – because, according to him, “economic growth will never materialise while Mr Koroma presides over at best incompetence… bla bla bla” – with Chatham House evoking the picture of a scene in ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’!

 SLPP Connived With HANCI

An adopted Sierra Leonean kid, Samuel, with his adopted parent, Judith Mosley

This medium can authoritatively state that the unfortunate saga of the bungled adoptions of Sierra Leonean children that has left many parents weeping was the outcome of connivance between the then Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) government and the then leadership of Help A Needy Child International (HANCI).

As Attempts To Re-write History Woefully Fail....

Abass Bundu Counters Maada Bio

Despite attempts to clone his horrific past and present him as the man who brought democracy to Sierra Leone by the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP), Julius Maada Bio remains an abhorrent figure, even as he would soon realize that he cannot change history. His current futile attempts at making himself a hero of democracy, of which in actual fact he is a villain, can be easily countered by the writings of his own Special Adviser, Dr. Abass Bundu.

Lunsar Residents Cry For Rescue From Tribalists At London Mining….
Monday, 07 May 2012 07:14

No Jobs For Non-Mendes

Residents of Lunsar in the Port Loko District have given reasons for their recent demonstration during the commissioning of the London Mining Company by President Ernest Bai Koroma. Speaking to a reporter of Radio Democracy 98.1 as aired in yesterday’s ‘Good Morning Salone’ show, the people said they were being discriminated against on the basis of tribe. A good number of them insisted that “if you are not Mende, they will not take you.” A lady in fact stated that she was asked whether she was Mende before being left out.
